The new VEZ library in Villa Erizzo, Mestre
This renovation project entailed the conversion of an historic villa dating back to the seventeenth century, which was once part of the wide range of properties owned by the Erizzo family, into the new VEZ civic library in Mestre. The building is located in Piazzale dei Donatori di Sangue and occupies a total area of approximately 1,900m², spread across four floors. The library complex can host more than 700 reading places, 27,000 volumes, and 20,000 audio-visual supports. Sinergo designed the lighting system, power systems, structured wiring system and security systems, all of which comply with current legislation and are in line with the most advanced technologies. The lighting system is equipped with a luminous flux regulation system that integrates both natural and artificial light. The building is equipped with a structured wiring network for the distribution of telephone services and data transmission, developed using access-point technology, which offers users a protected wireless network. An alarm system, closed-circuit television surveillance system, fire detection system and anti-intruder system were also designed. Finally, Sinergo designed the mechanical heating and cooling systems (heat potential of 115 kWt, cooling capacity of 130 kWf), the plumbing and drainage systems, as well as the fire protection system for the library and the archive.
